Love Is a Nightmare

Love today is so obscure
It is measured in diamond rings
In clothes and shoes
In pizzas and ice creams
What happened to the old school dating system
Now first you sleep around
And then you wonder where are we
What about being gentle
What about chivalry
What happened to spending time together
Instead of messages and video calling
What happened to the bliss of privacy
Facebook is the new break up machine
When did live become so materialistic
So possessive and jealous
I thought love was more enduring
I thought it was timeless
But today everything has an expiration date
Pre nups, divorces and cold goodbyes
Love isn’t sweet anymore
Love is a nightmare.
